The National Resistance Movement Party rebels have promised to subject President Yoweri Museveni to a scientific age test to establish his real age.
The expelled party members, Theodore Sekikubo (Lwemiyaga County MP) and Ndorwa MP, Wilfred Nuwagaba claim that Museveni will not be eligible to contest for presidency in the 2016 presidential elections since he will be above 75 at that time.
They claim that according to the research they have conducted about President Museveni’s age, he is not 70 years old as recorded in the books since he was born around 1938 and 1939 not 1944.
“We cannot allow his nomination, it will be against the constitution” Sekikubo told reporters at parliament on Friday
Meanwhile Mr Nuwagba said that Museveni will be subjected to the carbon age test which archeologists use to establish the age of different creatures even after 60,000 years ago.
In response, government Chief Whip Kasule Lumumba advised the MPs to concentrate on serving their electorates other that the age of the president who is still strong enough.
The MPs described Museveni as a stale candidate and also vowed to fight any move to manipulate the constitution on age limits in favour of Museveni.
