By Jumah Nsubuga

The rebels MPs have condemned the ongoing campaign by NRM MPs to popularize president Museveni to the public.

The MPs who included Theodore Ssekikubo, Wilfred Niwagaba and Barnabas Tinkasimiire said that, the campaign is not called for adding that, this campaign is wastage of tax payers’ money on a none-starter project.

While addressing the press at parliament today, the angry MPs accused Museveni of using funds from the public coffers for his own benefit.

Expelled NRM Members of Parliament

“If Mr President wanted to popularize his sole candidacy come 2016 to the public, he would have used his personal funds not tax payer’s money” Said Sekikubo.

“The huge sums of money given to NRM MPs were drawn from the collection account of URA which is very unfortunate” he added.

“Museveni has not used his personal money, but tax payers’ funds to popularize the unpopular resolution in Kyankwanzi, but these funds will chop him because he will never be the sole candidate in 2016” Said Wilfred Niwagaba.

“Like it or not, we shall have another presidential candidate in 2016 presidential elections although Mr Museveni is trying to dictate that he will stand alone. He will get a challenger either from the Ruling party or opposition” “We shall not disclose our candidate now, but we welcome anyone who is ready to contest” Hon Niwagaba said

The Ruling party (NRM) gave millions of money to its members to go at the grass root and popularize the sole candidacy of president Museveni as it was resolved in Kyankwanzi retreat in February this year.
