President Yoweri  Museveni has clarified on the rumours regarding the sacking of Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi by the NRM caucus.

The president says ,Mbabazi will not even appear before the party’s disciplinary committee to defend himself over the reports  that he had
been secretly  soliciting  support within the NRM for presidency in the upcoming elections.

“The allegation that the Secretary-General, the Rt Hon Mbabazi, had been replaced by Hon Todwong, for instance, is not true. The Secretary General is still the Secretary General. However, on account of being very busy as Prime Minister, sometime last year I appointed Todwong as minister without Portfolio in charge of Mobilisation to help the Secretary General run the day-to-day activities of mass political work. He is, however, not Secretary General,” Mr Museveni said in a statement yesterday.

President Museveni
He added that  the appointment of Todwong came after  the Deputy Secretary General, Ms Dorothy Hyuha, was appointed ambassador to Tanzania.
