A few hours after returning to his office on Monday, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago was thrown out of office again.
The Court of Appeal ordered Lukwago out of City Hall. This came after Attorney General, Peter Nyombi, filed an ex-parte application at the Court of Appeal to have Lukwago out of office.
The attorney General was challenging last Friday’s ruling by the High Court which halted the ongoing by-election to replace Lukwago and made him free to access his office again.
Lukwago returned to his office at City Hall on Monday morning amidst celebration from some Councillors who were against his impeachment.
His chair was first cleansed by Sheikh Seifullah Mulindwa before he was allowed to sit.
