There is a Meningitis outbreak in the West Nile Region, the Ministry of health (MOH) has confirmed

Cases have so far been reported in Adjumani and Arua districts, though no deaths have been recorded. 31 suspected cases have been reported since the first case was registered late last month.

In the neighbouring districts of Koboko and Maracha,two cases have been reported.

A release from the Ministry of Health yesterday stated that a team of health experts have been sent to West Nile to control the outbreak..

“The necessary drug supplies have been mobilized; plans are under way to designate treatment centers in all the existing health facilities in the affected districts,” the release read in part.
