By Our Reporter

It appears, the life of President Yoweri Museveni, former FDC president Kizza Besigye and other top Ugandan politicians is in danger.

Government yesterday said letter bombs had been sent to the top politicians and others who include; Foreign affairs Minister Sam Kutesa, UPC leader Olara Otunu, embattled Kampala Lord Mayor Erais Lukwago, Vision Group Editor-in-Chief,Babra Kaija , Mr Peter Christopher Werikhe  and Paul Kihika.

Junior Internal Affairs Minister James Baba told parliament yesterday that alleged parcels came from P.O Box 7007, 3109AA Schiedem – a city and municipality in the province of South Holland in the Netherlands.

Presenting the report to the Speaker of parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, the junior minister noted that the letters “exhibit traces of the volatile organic compounds more likely to have come from ink and other substances used in the print industry”.

The package is currently at the government’s Analytical Laboratory for analysis.

Other members of parliament and opposition officials have however  doubted the report on the letter bombs to the mentioned politicians.

“I have just read the allegations on Internet but sounds like a Fools Day story. If it’s not a prank, government owes us a duty to furnish us with the details; the people behind it and their motive.” Said the Lord Mayor, Lukwago, when contacted on the matter.
