By our reporter

The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has finally commented on the bomb that was allegedly sent to her in a letter weeks ago.

Speaking to journalists at parliament today, Kadaga said that, although the incident happened when she was out of the country, the matter is being investigated by police and she is yet to get a report.

Media reports alleged that a letter bomb was sent to her with intention to harm her, and instead her aid suffered serious facial injuries after opening the “letter bomb”.

When she was asked whether she was a target, Kadaga responded that every leader is a target.

Meanwhile, legislators have called for a tight security in their offices following the incident. MP Medard Bitekyerezo Mbarara Municipality (NRM), Dr Lulume Bayiga Buikwe South (DP) and Theodore Sekikubo Lwemiyaga County, noted that if it’s true that the speaker’s life has been threatened then this should be an eye opener to the police that are in charge of parliament security to do it better because next could be in their pigeon halls where they receive their packages.
