The fallen Bishop of Hoima Catholic Diocese, Deogratius Byabazaire will be buried tomorrow –Thursday.
The 72- year- old bishop described as a humble and selfless servant of God will be laid to rest outside Bujumbura Cathedral.
The Bishop’s body will today lie in the Cathedral where a mass will be conducted for him .The laity will also pay their last respects to him.
Christians are being allowed to view the body until tomorrow when it will be buried around the cathedral. The church had earlier thought of burying him inside Bujumbura Cathedra but later canceled the program.
Bishop Byabazaire Abwooli died on Saturday shortly after returning to Uganda from India for treatment. He succumbed to hydrocephalus (cerebrospinal fluid in the cavities of the brain), a mild stroke and diabetes .He had however showed some remarkable improvement by the time he was discharged from India.Byabazaire was ordained a priest on August 9, 1969 by the late Bishop Cyprian Kihangire, the first Bishop of Hoima Catholic Diocese.
