The elections to replace General David Sejusa in parliament have been pushed from January 15th -Wednesday to Friday,the Electoral Commission said yesterday

The commission’s spokesperson, JothamTaremwa told the press that  the army made the request to allow the army council hold both its meeting and elections on Friday.

Ssejusa lost his seat following recommendation from Parliament’s Rules and Privileges committee, after he absconded from duty for more than 15 sittings without notice to the Speaker.

The General Sejusa went to exile in April last year  after making controversial statements about President Yoweri Museveni’s succession plan with his son, Muhoozi  Kainerugaba.

In December he launched his own political party called ‘Freedom and Unity Front’ in London .
