By Kezia Agaba

Hundreds of residents in Nalengolobi village Napak district are homeless following fierce bush fires which swept through their homes this week.

Family properties including crops in gardens, animals and chicken have been burnt, area leaders told the press.

The first wild bush fire swept through Longora parish on Sunday affecting over 150 homes and displacing over 1000 people.

Area leaders say hunters trailing different bushes are responsible for the wild fires in the area. The area MP says increased hunting in the region is due to hunger that is biting the area due to a prolonged drought.

He told the press yesterday that people have resorted to hunting to get what to eat, adding that animals are easily captured by lighting fire in target hunting areas.
