Burundi’s Hope Irakoze won Tusker Project Fame 6, a win that eluded Uganda’s own Daisy Ejang’s grasp yesterday during the show’s finale.

Hope walked away with the cash prize of Ksh5m ( Ug sh150m) and a one-year recording contract with Sony Music at the end of the night bringing an end to a not so popular Tusker Project Fame this year.

TPF 6 started on October 13 and was broadcast on Kenyan, Ugandan, Tanzanian, Burundian, Rwandan and South Sudan television.

Hope beat other finalists like Tanzania’s Hisia in the fourth position, our very own Daisy Ejang who finished in the third position and then, Kenya’s Amos and Josh who finished in the second position. Unlike other seasons, this year saw finalists come out of the academy with their latest singles fully recorded on both audio and video. Nyambura and Patrick from Rwanda were evicted before the closing night.

At the grand finale, previous winners like Ruth Matete and Davis Hillary Ntare performed alongside other TPF contestants.

After being announced as the ultimate winner for the night, Hope said, “East Africa what you have done for me i will never forget!!!!! Thank you Lord for blessing me with the talent to sing..indeed your ways are Great!!! #TeamHope the BEST fans in the world, thank you! Thank you! Thank you so much!!!!”
