The Uganda People’s Defence Forces backed by the UN have launched a fresh bid of capturing the Lords Resistance Army leader Joseph Kony who is believed to be hiding in the Central African Republic forests .
The renewed offensive have yielded positive results in the last four days ,UPDF Spokesperson told the press.
The offensive in which the army began advancing on rebel positions left eight rebels dead, a seizure of an assortment of weapons and a number of abductees rescued,he added
The development is a major boost for the US-backed offensive against the LRA fighters, who have terrorized the region for a long time.
Uganda halted the military operation in April, shortly after the Seleka rebels toppled the Central African Republic’s government. .
