The Kampala Capital City Executive Director ,Jenniffer Musisi has denied claims that they are banning night prayers for Pentecostal Churches and morning Islamic prayers.
The KCCA boss told the press on Monday that the authority did not even issue a warning letter to the Muslims as reports have been circulating.
“I would like to inform and assure all members of the Muslim community that KCCA has not issued any letter to the Muslim community that is banning them from having their prayers. The rumour was generated and propagated by malicious people intending to tarnish the image of KCCA and cause public unrest.” she said
She however clarified that the letter that has been misinterpreted by many was that which was issued to various religious leaders for a stakeholders meeting that was scheduled for September 25 to share information and discuss plans to reduce the likely legal and social challenges while maintaining a peaceful environment.
The meeting is intended to help religious leaders operate within the confines of the law when conducting night prayers.
