Former chief of defense forces (CDF) who is now the minister of internal Affairs General Aronda Nyakayirima says, he had no role to permit or deny Gen David Sejusa permission to travel outside the country because he was only answerable to the appointing authority who is the president.
General Aronda was appearing before parliamentary committee on rules privileges and discipline chaired by Fox Odoi .
Nyakayirima says that, the command structure of intelligence under Gen Ssejusa was completely out of his jurisdiction because he is a presidential appointee.
He added that, it’s upon the president and speaker of parliament to take action against general Ssejusa because he is answerable to them.
Meanwhile Rules committee boss ,Odio told news reporters at parliament that, the committee has given Gen Ssejusa an ultimatum of two weeks to appear before the committee failure to do so, the committee will take its decision.
Speaker Kadaga directed Rules committee to investigate Gen Ssejusa’s conduct after missing 15 consecutive sittings of parliament.
