Wheelchair-bound Jose Manuel Riella, 103, made vows of love to Martina Lopez, 99, last week on Friday. The Paraguayan couple fell in love and moved in together in 1933.
They were wedded at a simple religious ceremony held in their garden in Santa Rosa de Aguaray where an altar had been erected for the event.
The couple was joined by their extended family which includes eight children, 50 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
The two were joined in a civil ceremony 31 years ago, but never got around to holding a religious one.
The priest said they were the oldest newlyweds he had ever known.
