Senegal beat Uganda 1-0 on Saturday ending Uganda’s dream to the World Cup.
The Cranes struggled to prevent many goals from Senegal’s Lions of Teranga despite losing defender Godfrey Walusimbi to a red card after 36 minutes.
Commenting on the game ,Mid Fielder Hassan Waswa has praised his teammates for the efforts they invested in the game despite missing another chance .
“The team did well, the boys gave their all, unfortunately we had to play against 11 players and it was very difficult to play against 11 Senegalese who are much experienced, but I’m satisfied with the boys’ effort. I’m sure some people expected a worse result than 1-0.” said the midfielder
Uganda needed a win to make sure of their passage, while the draw would have been enough if Senegal led proceedings.
Senegal now joins Ethiopia, Nigeria, Egypt and Ivory Coast among others in the final phase of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
