Despite rumors that Rema is dating or was dating fellow musician, Eddy Kenzo, the ‘Oli Wange singer has confirmed she is actually single.
“Can’t you people just get used to the fact that we are just friends? I am not dating him, he is just a friend,” she said of dating Kenzo before adding, ” I am single and content. Right now, I am dating my music.”
For the men who would like a chance at her, if you are short, do not bother with her, here is her ideal man. “I am looking for a down-to-earth, God-fearing man. I want a man who keeps his word. Not one who will tell me something today and changes tomorrow. I do not want a short man,” she said.
Rema shot to fame when she released ‘Cease and Sickle’ together with former manager, Bebe Cool. At the time, she was at university at Kyambogo University where she was doing Administrative and Management Science. However, it was rumored that she had a lot of retakes on her head and it was thought she would not graduate. When asked if she graduated, she revealed she had already left school to pursue her passion.
“I gave campus a break last year. It was not because of retakes. I realised that the administrative and management science course I was doing was not going to help me. So I decided to change and pursue fashion and design, which will make me more creative. I am a bright girl who cannot fail,” she said.
After being let go from the Gagamel Crew owned by Bebe, Rema said it was just a disagreement between her and Bebe because he always treated her like a ‘baby’. “We just failed to agree on whether it was time for me to hold a concert. I wanted to have it this month and he did not like the idea. He always treated me like a baby, so he thought I was not ready. When I went ahead with my plans, he told me that I should take a break from the band. But the good news is, I believe in myself. I will make it even without him.”
Ahead of her concert which is coincidentally clashing with that of Julianna Kanyomozi, Rema said she was not scared that she is messing with hot fire.” I am not scared of having a show on the same day with Juliana because we have different fans. Juliana’s fans can afford Serena and mine can only afford Equatoria. I cannot even pretend to hate Juliana. I have always admired her,” she said.
