Robin Thicke’s wife, Paula Patton has at last broken her silence on Miley Cyrus’ twerking during the MTV Video Music Awards.
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday, Sept. 17, Patton answered a viewer’s question, asking, “How long did it take to wash Miley’s funk off your husband’s Beetlejuice pants?” saying, “First of all, his outfit was fly,” she said of the black-and-white striped suit Thicke, 36, wore on stage. “Secondly, he was wearing pants so there was nothing to wash off. It wasn’t a naked show!”
“I wasn’t surprised at all,” she added about her husband’s collaboration with the 20-year-old singer. “Honestly, they rehearsed for three days beforehand, and I don’t know how not to dance with someone having their booty in your . . . all my friends do it like that. And I don’t really know what the big deal is.”
Although she was so fine with everything, considering the fact that it was her husband who was the dummy, Patton was a suprised about the negativity from the rest of the world. “I didn’t know if they thought Miley was going to sit down and play piano like Alicia Keys. Her song’s about taking molly!” she said.
Once again appearing on the TODAY show, Patton said. “I don’t know if you guys have been to a club lately, but that’s how girls dance at the club,” she said. “My friends dance with [Robin] like that. It’s just what they do.” Wearing a sexy leopard-print dress, Patton then got up and twerked on weather anchor Al Roker while joking away, “Your wife’s [Deborah Roberts] not going to get mad at you is she?”
When it comes to the secret to their happy eight-year marriage with Thicke, Patton said “love” and not being too uptight. “I want him to express himself however he feels, and he lets me do the same,” Patton explained
