Moses Golola at last gained his title in Uganda as ‘hot temper’ after Friday’s fight with Titus Tugume beating him into unconsciousness in just a few seconds.
Proclaimed national champion, Tugume took Golola’s hit in just ten seconds during the game at Freedom City in Kampala. Tugume, a UPDF soldier continually boosted during the week saying he would beat Golola. In just ten seconds however, he was knocked out leaving him land awkwardly on the floor. The mammoth crowd which had gone to watch the game were left wondering if it was fixed or Tugume was not as strong as he claimed to be.
“I am not contented and call for a rematch”, Tugume who spent close to a minute on the ground lying unconsciously said. “For now, everybody knows who is a true champion and who isn’t,” Golola said after the victory.
The East and Central Africa challenge fight managed to bring forth results from Golola’s training which he had undergone in Kenya. Golola went to Kenya and underwent body mechanics. Before the match, his minder Kiwanuka said, “I can’t say much for him. All I can say is that Golola is fit to go because he has had good training but you will hear what he will tell you at Freedom City!”
Tugume’s promoter Kampala University vice-chancellor, Prof. Badru Kateregga accepted defeat and said. “It was unfortunate. We have been defeated and those things happen,” he said. Among other things, Golola’s training, previous defeats and a big fan base gave him the ability and the agility to knock out the over-confident Tugume who had said he would lead Golola to the grave.
