68-year-old actor, Micheal Douglas has refuted rumors that his marriage is on the rocks.
The Oscar-winning actor is married to Catherine Zeta-Jones and of recent, reports of trouble in paradise have been common but he has come out to say it is all wrong. Douglas made his first public appearance since the marriage trouble reports on Monday in Berlin, Germany to promote his HBO film, “Behind the Candelabra”.
“I have a crisis at home? No, I think the press has a crisis,” he told reporters on the red carpet. “We, we are fine. My wife and I are, are fine. We take a temporary separation, but the press, it gives you stuff to write about.”
Reps for both actors confirmed reports of the pair’s separation to omg! last week saying, “Catherine and Michael are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage. There will be no further comment.”
Douglas and Jones have been married for 13 years since 2000. Catherine has had an ongoing struggle with bipolar II disorder while Michael has struggled with a throat cancer diagnosis in 2010 as their son, Cameron battled with drug addiction and incarceration.
