Government has been told to issue National Identity cards to all citizens as a way of controlling underage drinking which is rising to worrying levels.
The issue was raised at the launch of an awareness drive that aims at tackling the underage drinking problem especially in Kampala and other town suburbs.
The campaign under the theme “Zero tolerance to under- age drinking,” was launched at Nakumatt Oasis in Kampala.
It reinforces the message “Alcohol is strictly not for sale to persons under the age of 18 years” is targeting mainly students.
It was initiated by Uganda Breweries Limited and Nakumatt Holdings Limited.
