The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga has ordered Gen. David Sejusa to attend the next plenary session.
The order was issued after his leave extension request was denied. “Gen.Sejusa is out of the country, neither on UPDF duties or parliamentary duties,” the Speaker said. This leaves him with no choice but to come either come back to the country to resume his roles or leave his duties.
The Speaker said that she has confirmed from the army chief that Sejusa is not representing the army where he is.
Gen. Sejusa left the country in April claiming he was on official duty after which he published a letter in which he was stating that there was a succession plan to make the first son the president of the country. Since his official rebellion, government has been disowned by government and the security agencies.
Gen. Ssejusa recently asked for extension of his leave after the initial 3 months period expired which was denied. Government has stated that he faces treason charges as soon as he returns to the country over comments he made that are allegedly compromise national security.
