Hon. Onzima said that most leaders are elected to office because they spend a lot of money during the campaigns. He added that there is need to create an environment to ensure that people who have the ability to lead are elected whether they have the money or not.
“A good number of people who can lead this country have turned their backs on leadership positions because they do not have enough money to get into politics,” he noted.
He also stated that there is need for Ugandans to work together for the sustainable political stability of the country and not be divided.
“We must not be selfish by focusing on our political parties, religion and tribe that divide this country. This makes the country and Africa as a whole lag behind. There is need to work without any form of discrimination,” he stressed.
