Club Music Video Awards (CMVA) are on tonight and we are expecting it to be a huge gig.
The award ceremony’s stage organizers are from Sony and they flew into the country on Sunday to begin their preparations for the big day. “The Club Music Video Awards were modeled and based on internationally accepted awards like BET, MTV and Channel O just to mention but a few. And in line with those awards, the whole idea of the red carpet a very glamorous event performances, huge stage and world-class lighting and production, we felt those things are very important,m hence the need to bring in technical people,” Club beer’s brand manager, Sam Hooper said.
He went on to add saying, “We would like the whole experience to be a representation of the music industry, how it has grown and how big it is in the country.”
The show’s tickets were put on sale at Nakumatt, Game Lugogo and Uchumi supermarkets. They go for sh50,000 for ordinary seats and sh100,000 for VIP seats. However, Club insists that the award ceremony is more about celebrating Ugandan music not one for generating money.
CMVA’s are going to be hosted by Gaetano Jjuko Kaggwa. The show is beginning at 7:00pm and is going to take place at the UMA main hall in Lugogo. There are 14 categories where several musicians will receive awards.
