South Africa’s former heavyweight boxing champion Francois Botha will be here in Uganda next month.
Botha, popular for his fights with Mike Tyson, Shannon Briggs, Vladmir Klitchko, Lennox Lewis and Michael Moorer will be here with World Boxing Federation president, Howard Goldberg to attend the WBF qualifier between Fred Muhumuza and Kenya’s Patrick Amote and four other fights.
Goldberg and Botha will also conduct a clinic for referees, judges, cornermen and coaches.
“There is more to professional boxing than just fighting. Like any other field, there is need to constantly train human resource,” said Mogas Uganda Managing Director Partha Gosh.
Mogas Uganda is funding the five fight night and plus the travel and other expenses of the two officials.
