The Ugandan government says it will not accept illegal immigrants deported from Israel.
Elly Kamahungye, the spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreigh Affairs told the international media on Friday that Uganda would not accept such an arrangement.
“We’re not aware of any such deal. There’s no way Uganda would enter such an arrangement,” Kamahungye said.
An Israeli official was quoted saying , Israel intends to start the process of deporting Eritrean and Sudanese migrants, who number more than 50,000 via Uganda .
Michal Rozin, chairwoman of parliament’s committee on foreign workers in Israel had reportedly said that Uganda was the country that had agreed to absorb migrants who had settled in Israel.
