3 residents in Elegu trading centre in Amuru district are suspected to be suffering from Cholera.
The cases are said to have come after all the toilets in the trading centre were flooded after Unyama River banks burst about two weeks back.
The patients are said to be passing bloody stool, complaining of stomach ache, Vomiting and general body weaknesses.
Others are also said to be suffering from flue and cough.
Stephen Odongkara, the police boss in charge of the greater North road stationed in Elegu trading centre, confirmed the reports on Sunday.
Odongkara said that one of the patients have been sent to St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor in Gulu for treatment.
Odongkara fears that if the Public toilets in Elegu trading centre are not emptied, more people will suffer from water borne diseases.
“The toilets and water sources got flooded when Unyama banks burst and most of the water sources were contaminated”, Odongkara added.
Betty Bigombe the state Minister for water, last week promised to send water to the Elegu residents saying that most of the water sources are contaminated.
