President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his wife Janet Kataha marked their 40th marriage anniversary over the Weekend.
The marriage renewal ceremony at Nshwera church in Kiruhura district was conducted by the Archbishop,Church of Uganda ,Stanley Ntagali.
The two asked forgiveness from each other over the wrongs they have committed in marriage and promised to love each other for life.
From church ,Museveni and wife led their visitors to their Rwakitura home for a grand reception.
Present was the Speaker of Parliament ,Rebecca Kadaga ,the minister of Foreign Affairs ,Sam Kutesa ,Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi ,KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi among other top government officials .
Museveni married Janet Museveni in 1973 and together they have three children , Diana Museveni Kamuntu, Natasha Museveni Karugire, Patience Museveni Rwabwogo.
Museveni and Janet were first married on August 24, 1973 at a church on Turnham Green in London.
Museveni was 29 and Janet was 25.
