Over 30 teams have been registered to compete in the Uhuru tournament, a local football tournament that will kick off soon. The competition was organized by Sirand Foundation, a local NGO in the region and it is aimed at promoting football and engaging the youth in the region.
Ms Hope Agola, the director of Sirand Foundation said that her organization was bent towards the promotion of sports and fitness in the district. She also called upon the residents to turn up in big numbers when the tournament kicks off.
“There are many talented youth here in Palisa and we want to make sure that they perfect their ta1lents in football in this tournament,” Ms Agola said.
The tournament will see the winner walk away with a trophy and a cash prize that Agola says will be decided on soon.
