President Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday flagged off the Uganda Cranes to Morocco ahead of their World Cup Qualifier game with Senegal on September 7.
The Cranes will first head to Botswana for a friendly match on this Saturday. From there they will proceed to Istanbul, Turkey for three days and thereafter go to Marrakech, Morocco to play with Senegal.
Museveni who handed over Shs384m to the National Team said that government was working on modalities of how to pay national team players monthly, should the Cranes succeed in international tournaments.
The Cranes must defeat Senegal to advance to the final round of next year’s World Cup qualifiers .
