MPs are demanding a statement from the leader of government business in parliament ,Amama Mbabazi expressing his grievances with the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga.
Kitgum district woman MP Betty Anywar says that, instead of fighting in the media, Mbabazi should bring a written statement before parliament and be discussed by MPs and find a way forward.
“We really do not know what is going on in the country. We are reading in the media about the exchange of words between the prime minister and the speaker. If Mbabazi has any problem with the speaker, he should table a statement and legislators discus it” She said.
“To come out and attack the speaker means that you have launched a war on parliament because the speaker is the parliament. We should not take issues personal. We should resolve them as legislators” Said Emmanuel Dombo parliament commissioner.
“Amama should give a formal statement explaining his accusations if the media reports are correct” Said Kaberamaido district woman MP Ibi Florence.
“Mbabazi has launched a personal attack to Kadaga because she is popular in the country. He has started to black mail her with an intention of bringing her down. We shall not wait for this. We shall stand firm and fight for our national Hero because she is doing what the country needs” Said rebel MP Barnabas Tinkasimire while speaking to the media.
Mbabazi accuses Kadaga of being on the opposition’s side.
