A midwife at Gulu regional Referral Hospital is set to be arraigned at Gulu court this week.

The midwife was arrested yesterday following the death of a mother and its baby this month.

Janet Adong 24 a wife to Christopher Oweka, a police officer attached to Gulu Central Police station died after delivering a dead baby.

Oweka blamed the midwife for neglect which he claimed led to the death of her wife and child.

Her death has annoyed many expectant mothers at Gulu Regional Referrals Hospital.

The women also accused midwives at the hospital of using abusive languages.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the police spokesperson for Aswa region said that the midwife will be charged with manslaughter in court this week.
