Mukono Deputy Resident District Commissioner Martin Mugabi has cautioned officers in-charge of health units in sub-counties to observe work regulations and rules or else face dismissal.
He was addressing health unit managers for Kyampisi Health Centre II, in Kyampisi sub-county, Bugoye Health Centre II in Ntenjeru sub-county and Ddamba Health Centre II in Kkoome sub-county, blacklisted for irregularities at their work stations.
Mr. Mugabi had summoned the three for reprimand following continuous public complaints of absenteeism and improper drug usage at their stations especially at night and on weekends.
He directed them to always keep medical personnel at all times at their health units, and to involve local council authorities and health unit management committee chairpersons while receiving drug consignments from the National Medical Stores, and to keep record of whatever is delivered.
The Deputy RDC said that henceforth, he would personally monitor running of affairs at all health units, and make adequate recommendations to higher authorities in case of any discrepancies.
