Police in Mukono are searching for a land lord who went missing from his home on Wednesday last week.
Micheal Ssemanda 47, a land lord and resident in Nabuti village Mukono municipality is said to have gone missing on Wednesday at around 7:30 pm.
The wife, Ruth Namutebi said that they were watching a television as Ssemanda requested her ;to go and check on their mother Maria Nanteza in the neighborhood .Unfortunately, he did not reach there and did not return home.
“He left at around 7:30pm and when it reached 11: 00pm I tried to call on mother Nanteza’ s phone since he had left his phone at home, Nanteza told me that she had not seen him so we slept hopping he would return in the night but in vain,” Namutebi said.
“We went to report at Mukono police on Thursday since the relatives have been warning and threatening him over the land issues and the rental houses that his late father left for him,” Namutebi added.
The brother to Ssemanda ,Eria Kyeyune said that the relatives including the uncles have been having misunderstandings over land for a long time.
“The relatives wanted to sell off some piece of land and Ssemanda refused, so they promised to do something to him , “ Kyeyune added.
However Mukono police are holding Makanga Benywa an uncle to Ssemanda and one Ssemakula a tenant to Ssemanda’s rentals. The case is under file number SD 59/15/08/2013.
