By Emmanuel Omona

Residents along Gulu-Atiak road have complained of Long distance trucks which have resorted to diverting into their garden due to the poor state of the road during the rainy seasons.

The Gulu-Atiak road is under construction by the CHICCO, a chinese company.

The road becomes so muddy due to water log and most of the time the trailers divert into people’s garden.

Gilbert Olanya, the Kilak County Member of Parliament blamed the CHICCO Company for not having safety measure against the weather changes.

“They should have planned on what to do during the rainy season or during the dry season”, Olanya said.

Olanya also want the government to recruit supervisors of such work so that the constructors should be supervised.

But Dan Alinange, the spokes person for Uganda National Roads Authority when asked for a comment rubbished the allegation saying that the government gives contract to companies who are supposed to monitor all the work.
