Police chiefs from East Africa and the South African region are meeting in Kampala for two days to find a way forward for the increased theft cases in the region.
The meeting of police chiefs under the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) and South African Regional Police Chiefs Corporation (SARPCCO) is taking place at Imperial Botanical Beach Hotel in Entebbe.
Uganda’s Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura the current chairperson of EAPCCO officially opened the meeting.
SARPCCO, is composed of the following countries; Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
EAPCOO has Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.
