Four students hailing from Budama South have received a donation from their area MP directed towards the financing of their university education. The four students that included Ms Nyakecho Winnie, a 2nd year student of Makerere University, Ms Katono Joan and Mr Olowo James of Kyambogo University;  and Mr Okoth Moses of UCU Mukono received Sh. 2M in fulfillment of a pledge the MP had made some time back.

Mr. Jacob Oboth Oboth, the MP Budama West South made this donation at Rubongi Sub County on Sunday.  He also reminded the students to study hard such that they can create opportunities for growth and prosperity in the constituency.

“I thank all parents who have consistently committed themselves to educating their children, despite financial hardships. It is education that made me what I am today and I want you to utilize this money to become better people in future,” Mr Oboth Oboth said.

The Rubongi LC3 chairperson, Mr. Emanuel Obbo who spoke on behalf of the parents in his Sub County Commended the MP for such a gesture.

“None of the previous leaders in this constituency have ever done something like this. We pray that God gives you good health as you continue serving us,” Mr Obbo said.
