Uganda beat Tanzania 1-0 in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.
The only super goal was scored by Denis Iguma in the second minute of the second half.
Efforts by the Taifa Stars to score in both the first and second round were fruitless.Uganda too missed a second goal after the hosts tightened their defence.
Tanzania now heads to Uganda in two weeks from now for a return leg.The winner over the two will qualify for next year’s CHAN finals in South Africa.Uganda coach Milutin “Micho” Sredejovic says he will not under-rate the Taifa Stars
“I respect Tanzania, and I know it is not over yet. We are going to approach the return leg with seriousness, knowing they are capable of turning the results,” he said after the match
In June ,Uganda Cranes beat Liberia 1-0 at Mandela National Stadium Namboole and later Angola 2-1 in the 2014 World Cup qualifier games.
