The long awaited  Buryamusenyi bridge that links Nakaseke to Masindi district in Kinoni sub-county has been commissioned .

The Shs 2.9billion, 40 metre long bridge in Nakaseke district which  connects to Masindi boarder along river Kafu was commissioned by President Museveni last week.

President Museveni called on communities to exploit the bridge  to support their social economic development and fight poverty in their households through increased access to markets and social service to the people living in the districts of Luweero, Nakaseke, Masindi and neighbouring districts.

The Minister of Works and Transport Hon Abraham Byandaala said the bridge will ensure safety and reliability of the transport network in area, unlike before when the people relied on boats for transportation.

He also revealed that the construction of Kigumba-Kabwooya-Kyenjojo road will commence soon.

The construction of the Buryamusenyi bridge was fully funded by the government of Uganda under the supervision of the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA). The implementation took two years.
