Authorities at the Ministry of Health say ,there are sufficient funds to transform health care delivery.

The ministry of Health planning department said Wednesday  that strategic proposals for health financing reforms have been made to ensure that all resources invested into the sector are well managed to achieve sustainable health gains.

The Director Health Services in charge of the planning and Development Dr. Isaac Ezaati however says, there is need to stop the massive fragmentation of finances allocated towards the health sector which affects the country’s ultimate health goals.

Dr Ezaati says the ministry is working on a strategic Health Financing strategy that is expected to be completed in August and later on presented to cabinet for approval.

Meanwhile the commissioner for Planning at the Health Ministry, Dr Francis Runumi says that for the country to register sustainable and better health service provision, there is need to have all health resources in one pool in order to facilitate the critical areas of the sector.

He also said that cooperation from the public funders, government and the development partners’ would avoid duplication of work and wastage of the funds.
