160 residents from Amuru district are set to visit President Yoweri Museveni on Saturday.

The residents who are from Lamogi and Amuru sub Counties are being taken by the state Minister for Water, Betty Bigombe Atuku who is also the women Member of Parliament of Amuru district.

William Nokrach, the MP for Disabled persons in Northern Uganda who hails from Amuru district told the press in Gulu on Friday morning that the move is in line with the Madhivani Sugar production.

“The residents will meet the president on Saturday this week end and discuss issues concerning the Madhivani sugar production.

Nokrach also added that the move was initiated by the local residents of Amuru district in May 2013.

“The move was not initiated by the politicians but the local people who want to meet the president and have their time to share their feelings with him”, Nokrach explained.

This is the second time the residents of Amuru district have visited President Yoweri Museveni over the Lakang Land in Amuru district.

Madhivani is fronting the residents to acquire 40, 000 hectors of land for setting up a sugar factory.
