The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has directed the Minister of Trade and Industry , Amelia Kyambadde to bring a statement today before the house explaining the Pre-shipment Verification and Conformity (PVOC) policy which led traders to close their shops.

The directive comes after MPs concerns that they cannot continue discussing any business without resolving the matter of traders who are the drivers of the economy.

The matter was raised before the house by Lubirizi county MP Katoto Hatwibu supported by Sanjay Tanna Tororo municipality MP, James Kakooza Kabula county  MP, Makindye East MP  John Sibwa ,Terego county Wadri Kasiano and Patrick Amuriat  who all said that there is need for immediate solution to avert the loses both to the economy and to the traders.

The Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi says they have heard the concerns of the traders and Government is ready to dialogue with the business community to sort out their grievances.
