Penelope Cruz could be the next James Bond girl, if a source’s words are anything to go by.
According to a source, Cruz has been an interest to the Bond franchise but she has never been got before but she could have been nailed this time round. “The producers have tried to get Penelope before, but she has never been available because of other commitments. The discussions have been going on for some time and they are working out the contract details now,” the source said.
Although no title has been communicated or confirmed, it seems the 39-year-old mother of one has got the internet buzzing. In the past 24 hours, searches for the pregnant star are up 201 percent.
The only thing that is known at the moment is that the co-writer of ‘Skyfall’, John Logan is currently working on scripts for the next two Bond movies, and that neither will be based on novels by Ian Fleming, who created the 007 character. Daniel Craig is expected to return as James Bond, and Ralph Finnes will appear as M, Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny, and Ben Whishaw as Q.
