Brig. Moses Ddiba Ssentongo has been appointed by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as the new General Court Martial chairman.

Brig. Ssentongo is replacing Brig. Fred Tolit, whose one year term expired early this month. He was the political commissar of the UPDF before being appointed to his new position.

Brig. Moses Ddiba Ssentongo Appointed New General Court Martial ChairmanAccording to a communication that was issued by President Museveni on June 11, Ssentongo will take over his new office from Tolit on Friday at a handover ceremony.

Brig. Tolit confirmed his replacement. More members of the court were also replaced by the president. Brig. Tolit replaced Lt. Gen. Charles Angina, who was recently appointed the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces. On Wednesday during a meeting in Makindye, Brig. Tolit urged court members to continue working extra hours to clear a backlog of cases. He has not yet been assigned a new job.
