A male nurse pleaded guilty to murdering 11 elderly people in Sydney.
The nurse, identified as Roger Dean admitted to setting fire to a nursing home in Sydney where he worked in addition to causing grievous bodily harm to other eight nursing home residents injured by the blaze in 2011.
The 37-year-old registered nurse set the home on fire while he was on duty. He later appeared on television and talked about his efforts to rescue trapped people.
Appearing in New South Wales state Supreme Court on Monday, Dean made his pleas.
His sentencing hearing starts on Thursday but potentially faces life imprisonment.
