Democratic Party President Norbert Mao has called on government to strengthen its early warning system to control the loss of lives and property due to disasters such as Floods.
Mao was commenting on the recent floods that hit Kasese district leaving 8 people dead, 7,000 displaced and property worth millions destroyed.
He blamed government for being reluctant while handling the situation saying they were caught off guard and are now overwhelmed by the situation.
He said he will donate twenty bales of clothes and 100 sacks of food to the victims of Kasese floods.
Mao has called upon the people to join in offering relief to the affected people instead of leaving it to government alone.
He urged his fellow party members to join the drive for relief.
