Martin Angume was born in January 9, 1976 in Kitwe, Kayonza subcounty, Kayunga district to Mr. John Akulu Kawolawola and Esteeri Yira. He has been the fifth born out of ten children.
He did not go further with education after completion of primary seven which he completed from Kitwe primary school.
According to His father, Mr. Kawolawola after completion of Primary Seven, he refused to continue with his studies and started loading Charcoal Sacks on Vehicles to Kampala. He was thereafter taken over by Seventh day Adventist Church who took him to Kampala to Sing in their Choir and that is how his music career Started.
He joined diamonds production, Kato Lubwama’s group 13 years ago though he rose to fame in early 2000.
He has sang songs like, Switch, ‘Gulimugiyanene’, ‘Yagala Mussajja Wo’, ‘Tubere Babiri’ among others.
He was residing in Namungoona housing estate and has three children with his wife Julie Semugga.
Martin Angume was set introduce his Fiancé Julie Semugga next week.
Angume died on Monday afternoon from Mulago hospital of kidney, liver, lungs and pancreas complications.
He died at the age of 37.
He will be buried in Kitwe village in Kayunga district.
