After the swearing in ceremony of her husband, President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kenyan First Lady, Margaret Wanjiru Kenyatta has become a person of interest to the world. The unusually shy First Lady has stood behind her husband from 1989 when they got married to the time he took politics by the head and became Kenya’s president.
Margaret Wanjiru Kenyatta is the wife of President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya and fourth First Lady of the country.
Mrs. Kenyatta was born to former Director of State Controlled Kenya Railways Corporation, Njuguna Gakuo.
Margaret and Kenyatta met in Mombasa and soon became best friends. The two later on got married at Holy Family Basilica in Nairobi in 1989.
According to one of her friends, the soft spoken first lady is easy to love because of her character. “She drives herself to places and most of the time you will find her in social places enjoying a cup of coffee.”
Margaret Wangiru Kenyatta is a mother of three children. Two sons namely, Jaba and Jomo and one daughter, Ngina.
