Traffic jam reached its highest along the Northern bypass when a woman’s head was bashed by a hit and run driver who knocked her off a bicycle.

The woman, who was identified as Zam was first knocked off the road by the car model, taxi and she fell down and smashed her head. She died immediately.

Zam was holding a child in her chest and the baby managed to survive the ordeal. Police took the remains of the woman with the child to police. Friends to the deceased revealed that the child she was protecting was not her own. “That child was not hers, it was for her sister who died after being hit by an iron bar man,” one of her friends said.

They revealed that Zam was going to pay money in one of local projects before taking the child to hospital, the child was said to be sick.

Police investigations are still on going to find out who was driving the taxi when Zam was hit, and more details.
