A woman in Mukono is in great pain after she was stabbed by unknown suspects yesterday .
Jackline Namwanje, a resident of Ngandu village in Mukono District was stabbed on the head after she went out of the bar with four men she called her friends but later turned against her along the way.
According to Mukono District Police Commander, Mr. Alfred Bangambaki, it was at 6AM when they got information from residents that there was a woman who had been thrown in their area.Police responded immediately and found her bleeding and in great pain.
“We arrived at the scene and upon reaching there, we found her unconsciously lying on the grass. We managed to talk to her where she managed to tell us that four men she had left Total Bar with the previous night turned against her with intentions of harming her. This happened at around 2AM but she says she managed to defend herself,” Mr. Bangambaki said.
He says they later called police ambulance that managed to rush her to Mulago Hospital in a critical condition.
Mr. Bangambaki says that the victim told police that she can identify the suspects if they were presented to her .
He added that the victim is largely to blame for the incident as she trusted people she was not sure of very late at night.
“This is serious irresponsibility on the part of the victim to have trusted strangers very late in the night. We as police, we cannot be everywhere at all times. It is upon the individuals to take personal security seriously before they think of a third party,” He said.
He also said investigations have started and that they are also hunting for the suspects .
